Objective of the programme
To enhance VPD control, including increasing and sustaining immunization coverage for all EPI vaccines, as well as improving surveillance of vaccine-preventable diseases. This involves eradicating the transmission of wild poliomyelitis, achieving measles elimination, introducing new and underutilized vaccines, transferring technology for laboratory diagnosis of VPDs, and responding to outbreaks.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Under the overall guidance of Team Lead-IVD and direct supervision of the Medical Officer-ISS, the incumbent will be responsible for providing technical assistant to the National EPI to carry out the following activities:
- Supervise and coordinate a divisional team of SIMOs, and general service staff to deliver technical support in all aspects of vaccine preventable disease control.
- Provide administrative, financial, and logistical support for program implementation in collaboration with National IVD and WCO staff and assist in resolving administrative and financial issues.
- Offer technical and operational guidance to SIMOs regarding Acute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP) and vaccine preventable disease surveillance. This includes conducting periodic field visits to reporting units, investigating, and following up on cases and outbreaks.
- Provide technical support to improve routine immunization coverage, including identifying low-performing areas, conducting data quality assessments, waste management and assisting divisional and district authorities in finding solutions.
- Participate in planning and implementing National Immunization Days and supplementary immunization activities. This involves developing training materials, organizing training sessions, and assisting with social mobilization, communication activities, waste management and supervision and monitoring.
- Assist in the introduction of new vaccines by participating in training, micro planning, advocacy, preparations, and post-introduction monitoring.
- Advocate for injection safety, provide training, and manage adverse events following immunization to ensure safety.
- Evaluate polio eradication, maternal neonatal tetanus elimination status, measles, and rubella elimination activities and other VPD control efforts in the division
- Collaborate with representatives from partner organizations working in the divisions, such as UNICEF and UNFPA, local NGOs and professional organizations
- Participate in special studies as determined and authorized by the WHO country office.
- Provide technical support to divisional health authorities during emergencies such as floods, cyclones, natural disasters, and disease outbreaks. This includes planning and monitoring health relief activities in affected areas and investigating outbreaks
- Undertake any other duties assigned by the supervisors.

Objective of the programme
The mission of WHO’s Health Emergencies Programme (WHE) is to help countries, and to coordinate international action, to prevent, prepare for, detect, rapidly respond to, and recover from outbreaks and emergencies.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
The incumbent will be performing the following duties and responsibilities:
Operations Support and Logistics
- Control the quality and quantity of goods received from suppliers, buyers and other entitles, comparing the purchase/ procurement order against the delivery note and inform the line manager of any problems (damaged or missing items etc.).
Monitor delivery notes if any irregularities are detected; inform the line manager accordingly when receiving goods, check the following:
- The number of packages received matches the cargo manifest and airway bill.2.The content of each box is identical to the order and the packing list.
- Check cool boxes upon receipt and the cold chain temperature monitoring card. If the result of the reading is positive, transfer the contents of the cool boxes to the refrigerators; immediately inform the line manager of any problems.
- Provide cargo manifest, packing list and certificate of the items received to the line manager to centralize the filing of these documents. Assign a shipping number to each package, in accordance with the instructions of the line manager.
- Coordinating with Civil Surgeon office of Cox’s Bazar, District Hospital (Sadar Hospital) and other appropriate local health authorities in locating and acquiring, facilitating and coordinating of storage facilities for all medical supplies coming to Cox’s Bazar.
- In conjunction with the line manager, organize and dispatch cargos, including prepare the delivery note, as well as a copy of the freight document for international and local shipments.
- Regularly inform the line manager of the weight/volume of articles ready for distribution to the various locations (projects).
- Update Total Stock Report on weekly basis and disseminate it to the line manager to be further provided to technical teams and other relevant personnel.
- Conduct appropriate entry of stock, receptions, distributions, into GIMS/BMS or WMS. Fleet Management8.Responsible in maintaining all the office services of WHO Office in Cox’s Bazar including Office Secretarial Services, Cleaning Services, Security Services, Water & Electricity Services, and all related services.
- Initiating proposals for necessary repairs and renovation, overseeing maintenance and security contracts in order to ensure smooth functioning of services in the office.
- Provide transport and logistics support for all field visits and make sure that technical staff receive the required service on time.
- Overseeing the work of drivers and the fleet of vehicles of the Cox’s Bazar office and advising appropriate officials use of vehicles as well as driver’s duties, including, maintaining and developing duty rosters and leave plans of all drivers, and maintaining records of their duty hours, log sheets, petrol consumption and its periodic analysis and checking. Guide them in GSM related works such as submission of Leave, OT, and Performance Evaluation etc.
- Responsible for the periodical maintenance and servicing of the vehicles to be in good working condition and preparation of periodic maintenance schedule, emergency repairs, if any, required after obtaining quotations from the local garages, including maintaining renewal of regular fitness certificates, insurance and other related documents, as required, for vehicles.
- Maintaining and updating of inventory records of vehicles and other items and equipment in the office/stores, advising their replacement from time to time, obtaining local quotations and making recommendations for repair, replacement and disposal, including preparation of proposals for the Property Survey Committee, etc.
- Any other duties are assigned by the WHO supervisor.

The objective of the programme is to deliver WHO Core functions at country level with a particular focus on the Organization’s directing and coordinating role for international health as expressed in the Constitution. The immediate Strategic Objective is to develop and sustain WHO as a flexible, learning Organization, enabling it to carry out its mandate more efficiently and effectively.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Under the guidance of the Administrative Officer and the direct supervision of the Technical Officer (HR & SP), the incumbent performs:
1. Files correspondence and keeps basic records.
2. Operates photocopier and carries out tasks for sorting and collating documents/reports.
3. Scans documents, sends copies to respective units by email and hand over originals to documentation unit.
4. Provides support to offices of WR and AO in collecting, sorting and dispatching files, reports, memos and official documents as per the guidance of supervisor.
5. Provides support to HRM unit for making logistic arrangements during tests. Also, assists in setting up ICT equipment for different examinations and on other occasions, whenever required.
6. Assists in organizing in-house meetings/workshops/conference/SDL training and arrange refreshments, photocopy of working materials, etc., as and when required.
7. Packs materials and affixes labels for dispatch.
8. Delivers and pick-up mail and other communications from and to the assigned offices.
9. Answers telephones and responds to routine enquiries, as advised, and
