Electricity Generation Company of Bangladesh Limited (EGCB) is hiring an Executive Director (Planning & Development)

The Opportunity

EGCB, a leading power generation company in Bangladesh, is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to join their team as Executive Director (Planning & Development). This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a visionary leader to play a key role in shaping the company’s future growth and development.

Responsibilities

Lead technical studies, planning, and development of projects, policies, and strategies.
Oversee engineering, construction, and supervision of all ongoing and upcoming company projects.
Assist the Managing Director in ensuring timely project completion, financing, and compliance.
Manage and ensure successful completion of tasks within departmental jurisdictions.

Qualifications

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognized university/institute.
No history of third divisions/classes in academic career. CGPA of at least 3.0 on a scale of 5.0 or 2.5 on a scale of 4.0 required for grading systems.
At least 20 years of experience in a relevant field, with 5 years in power generation utilities.
Minimum of 5 years in a senior managerial position (SE/Equivalent or above), including at least 1 year as Chief Engineer or Additional Chief Engineer in a public sector power utility.
Demonstrated experience in power system planning, design, project implementation, and public procurement.
Experience and knowledge in formulating documents like PDPP, DPP, PPA, GSA/FSA, PCR, pre-feasibility studies, tenders, and contracts (especially for large projects) is preferred.
Strong participatory leadership skills and knowledge of Integrated Management Systems (IMS).
Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Total Quality Management (TQM), Preventive Maintenance, and Corporate Governance.
Excellent communication skills in written and spoken Bengali and English, with computer proficiency.

Age Limit

Maximum 60 years old on the last date of application submission.

Remuneration Package

Attractive monthly basic salary (Tk. 1,49,000) with annual increments.
House rent allowance, medical support, full-time transport, group insurance, and other benefits as per company policies.

Terms and Conditions

Appointment for a maximum of 3 years, with the possibility of extension based on performance.
Retirement age is 62 years.
Government, semi-government, autonomous, or state-owned organization employees must apply through proper channels.
